Two types of memberships are available:

NGO & Agency Member

• Reserved for NGOs, nonprofits, and agencies that provide and oversee relief items, funding, and services.
• Lifetime membership that can be disabled anytime. 
• A community can be any of the following types:
  • Private
  • Public
  • By Invitation Only
• Community administrators can:
  • Block/unblock members
  • Delete posts, photos etc.
  • Blacklist/whitelist members
• Members have access to MatchBoard

General Member

• General members can belong to one or more communities. 
• Membership duration is for 3 months. To continue using MelJol, membership must be renewed manually. 
• This membership is intended for private donors of items and services.
• A donor is a "hands-off" entity that donates, but does not store, allocate or distribute resources to the end user.
• Members have access to MatchBoard

• MatchBoard is a searchable database of three types of listings, posted by registered members:
  1. Needed - Resources required in specific districts. 
  2. Available - Resources available for re-allocation to other regions. 
  3. Pledged - Contributions announced by private and public organizations.
• Communities can interact to co-ordinate their needs/requirements, so resources are used efficiently.
• MatchBoard can accommodate 9 major categories of resources:
  1. Agriculture & Livelihoods
  2. Basic Survival Equipment
  3. Food & Water
  4. Health & Medical Support
  5. Housing & Infrastructure
  6. Infrastructure & Utilities
  7. Machinery & Equipment
  8. Personal Hygiene & Health
  9. Shelter & Living
• Each major category includes one or more sub-categories, resulting in 35 sub-categories. For example, "Health & Medical Support" category includes 4 sub-categories:
  1. Essential medicines
  2. Health clinics
  3. Medical kits
  4. Vaccination drives

We run on Amazon Web Services (AWS) so relief work isn’t slowed by outages or bottlenecks.

Note: AWS provides the infrastructure; we control configuration and policies to meet our privacy-first standards.

MelJol is being provided free of charge to help verified NGOs and agencies coordinate relief in Punjab and neighbouring regions. This complimentary access has no fixed end date; we’ll review availability periodically based on on-the-ground needs and operational capacity.

As conditions evolve, we may adjust, pause, or conclude the free service. Should any change be required, we will:

• Provide advance notice by email to registered members where possible, and

• Share clear next steps to ensure a smooth transition.
